Changing the name of Westbank

We really need some help here in Westbank cause we have heard that the ones that are complaining about the change of name are the ones who didn't get off their butts and vote! This is not true, all of Westbank was not allowed to vote. The people on the reservation who own on this were not alloud to vote. So we all petioned this and went too the council and they did not even listen or look over this. They decided and that was it. This is one of the reasons alot of us don't vote for mayors or council any-more cause they don't listen and this is not fairand now the tax payers have to pay for all the changes on mail and signs and more so they can have their way and change this beautiful towns name that has been Westbank for a long time. Did any-one check and see why we were called Westbank??? There is always a reason and usually cause of a proper person. We have our own mayor and council and we never been Kelowna, we are our own town and it should stay that way. This was so unfair and not right. They should have taken the votes from the people who live on the reserve that we started and then went from there!! That is the only honest thing! Thank-you for your time and I do hope that you let this out from me who was not allowd to vote for our mayor which ment I was not allowed to vote for our town! Lana Evans
