Because you don't get enough of the booze over the holidays...

Walk down the aisles of any liquor store and you'll see bottle after bottle bearing someone's name. But you probably don't know the stories behind the men featured on your favorite bottle. Here are a few eye opening tales:

Captain Morgan the cutthroat pirate from Wales plundered Cuba and burned Panama City to the ground. But instead of being hanged, he was knighted as the lieutenant governor of Jamaica.

Jack Daniel the whiskey distiller from Lynchburg, Tennessee, injured his toe by kicking a locked safe in a fit of temper. The resulting infection festered into blood poisoning, which killed him.

Jose Cuervo in 1758, he received a land grant from the King of Spain to an agave farm in Mexico. From the agave, he began distilling tequila. His descendants packaged their product in individual bottles in 1880 and put his name on it 20 years later.

Jonnie Walker - the man behind the world's most popular Scotch whiskey was a grocer by trade. His son Alexander created the blended brand known as Jonnie Walker Black Label.

Jim Beam an Army colonel, he inherited a distillery in 1894. After the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, his distillery reopened and he added a new bourbon to the product line that bears his name.

Cheers!
