New Moon is already shooting in Vancouver and has been cast. You'll just have to keep your eyes pealed for casting calls when they start shooting the next movie in the Twilight series (probably next year) and of course if I hear about it I will let you know about it by posting it here to my blog ~BRI

Ohhhh boyyyy... all I did was clearly RE-POST the casting call for EXTRAS in New Moon, which is now over with and is currently filming. I'm a girl on the radio in BC... not a casting director in Hollywood. It's not like I get any insider info on casting calls, I found the New Moon one on Craigslist and in the Vancouver Sun where it was public information. I re-posted it on here to give the people of the Okanagan a chance to audition if they met the qualifications. Those roles have been cast, BTW. I would suggest that if you are serious about acting to find an agent to hook you up with auditions :-)

Casting for Gianna the receptionist

Mon, 2009-03-23 18:08
White Chick who has a dream ..
Hi Bri, I know what the description is for this casting , and of course im not at all what your looking for. But I have to ask, who is playing Gianna the receptionist in Volterra . I know im really really under age but i've had agents ask me to be on commercials and stuff. I haven't really given much thought about acting but I've always wanted to be an actress . I think im pretty good at my school work in drama and acting . I'm also a seriose dancer if that helps . I'm a brunette , and im tall im also white and i live in vancouver . I'll be turning 13 in July . And of course I would be more than lucky, I'd be the luckiest girl in the world to be in this film . I've just gotten the Twilight DVD and i've already watched it 23 times . I love the books and I was 2 hours early for the premiere of Twilight . My friends call me the Twilight freak . But i do have a dream about being in this movie . And I really really hope it comes true . And I know there are a million other girls asking you to make thier dream come true but im real . I can really see myself as Gianna in New Moon .

I heard about this contest in Febuary and i got my video all ready and stuff but know i found out u have to be first nations?! and not only that but 14 or older, but most everyone thinks that i look 14/15 so i think that they should be a little more flexible and let younger kids try out too...well thats my opinion, but if u know any other contests for Twilight definatly get the word out so that we all know, thx...

Actors Must be 100% Aboriginal

Sun, 2009-02-08 11:13
Adrienne Jenkins
New Moon Casting Call Controversy Need to Be 100% Aboriginal. Victoria Times Colonist reported at the recent open casting call the casting agency's requirement actors will be turned away unless 100% First Nations. Comment "I am so offended, who is 100% first Nations? I was supporting sending my son to the auditions who is mixed First Nations and White. You have to be 100% First Nations is a loaded question." *** PHOTOS FROM PHOENIX CASTING CALL *** In case you’re still curious about who might show up at the auditions, it’s pretty serious stuff. I posted pictures and if you follow the link on the site you’ll see the audition scene that was chosen in Phoenix so you can practice in advance if they use the same one *** PICTURES & PHOTOS WANTED FROM KELOWNA *** Please take cell phone pictures, etc. and e-mail me at adriennejenkins@verizon.net and I’ll load them on this page. For those Twilighters that can’t make it around the world to audition, they’re probably curious about the whole experience. It would be great if someone from the Okanagan is chosen today. Good luck to everyone auditioning (Sunday). http://www.squidoo.com/new-moon-casting

wow Albino first nations

Sat, 2009-02-07 22:05

wow Albino first nations person. that was a bit racist. don't worry i'm sure there are parts available to non first nations people so please don't take this away from us it's one of the few chances we get.

lets not be discriminating !!!

Lets not be discriminating! I think that the "OPEN " auditions tomorrow, should be for those that are native as well as those who are non native but look the part. Acting skills should be the major requirment for auditioning. Everyone nowadays arent just from one racial group.I am all for native rights but lets be fair here .Everyone deserves a fair chance.SO if you look the part and can act GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!

new moon NATIVE auditions

Fri, 2009-02-06 22:59
NATIVE
I'm really sorry for all the people who want to meet or become famous with this audition but if you not NATIVE whats the point i'm sorry but really it's going to be a big waste of time. You get your hopes up then they don't even get you a chance like really.. Don't bother even if you "look native" like its been said that insulting to a native like me.. I'm auditioning because im native don't take it wrong you might be great but it's just the way its going to be...sorry! And with so many non natives trying to audition how are us real first nations suppose to get our chance?? Please show some respect?!

Non-Native? Don't Audition

I have read some of the comments and I think there is a lot of wishful thinking out there. I know that it's really nice to believe that if the producers would only give you a chance, they would see how PERFECT you are for the role. It's a sad reality, but if you are non-native they won't even take a second look at you. And even worse, people who have a legitimate chance at this might get overlooked because these other non-15, non-first nations people are crowding around the auditions. I am sorry if I sound a little mean, but if you really love the books and films, than please think before you show up on Sunday.

some helpful comments!

Hey ALL, there have been a lot of great comments! I can't answer the same questions over and over again though... I just have NO IDEA what it will be like. Read through the comments that have already been posted you might find the answer you're looking for. A lot of people have the same questions/concerns. PLUS there are some people who have commented on here who have been to casting calls before and can give you insight through their comments. Also, make sure to check out the casting call and article links in my blog again! Good luck to everyone of First Nations auditioning!! ~ Bri

I'm in Penticton and I think this is a wonderful opportunity. I was wondering if you think it would be necessary for me to audition, for the following reasons. I am half metis (aboriginal) but I do not look it as much as most would. I have dark hair but blue eyes. Do you think there is a chance they would look past the eye colour due to options of overturning them. (contacts etcetera) I'm fairly fair skinned. But I deffinately have native heritage. Thoughts?

Hey, so ive been to a few

Hey, so ive been to a few casting calls and if you do not fit the critera they want for example in this case first nation...DO NOT show up, they won't even consider seeing you if you clearly look non native, they'll just turn you away and for fans of the cast like Rob Pattinson theres a 99 % chance he WILL NOT be there. if a bunch of fans and people who are not first nation show up and bombard the place the actual first nations may not get a chance to even audition and thats not fair, we dont want this cancelled its a big deal for kelowna so if your not native and they want natives...why would you show up?

Do you need a resume and cover letter and possibly a headshot??? Do you absolutely have to be first nations? What do you have to do to get a script so you can come back and audition? Are they casting any other parts other than first nations? please answer i need to know!!!!

FAQs New Moon Twilight Sequel Open or Closed Auditions

Wed, 2009-02-04 04:04
Adrienne Jenkins
The value of open auditions is that producers get to see new undiscovered talent. In their Craigslist ad they said you didn't necessarily have to have any acting experience. Bad news is that people who legitimately meet the casting producer's request for Native Americans betwen 15-24 may not get cast because the open casting call turns out to be innundated and overrun with Twilight and Robert Pattinson fans. Let the producers know what you think. Lot of questions out there such as "I'm Not Native American, Should I still just show up", I can't make it to the auditions in person where should I e-mail, mail or post my audition on You Tube". Find answers to these questions and more on squidoo.com/new-moon-casting.

I'm so excited!!! I'm definitely auditioning, I hope a lot of people from the Okanagan get roles, that would be so amazing. I'm first nations, and I also have a lot of acting experience. Wish me lots of luck!! It does kinda bum me out that everyone else wants a piece of action that aren't first nations, of age or have any experience though. It is exciting, but it's also not for everyone!

By the look of the casting call, I reeeeeally don't think they're casting the entire movie in Kelowna/Vancouver/Victoria. And I'm not sure they will let you decide what roles to audition for either. I don't think it works like that. Show up if you want! That's what I keep saying do whatcha want. I'm just the messenger ha ha. ~ Bri

hi bri! I'm 20 years old, and i have no native in me... however i really want to play the part of Emily Young, she's Sam Clearwater's "imprint" and she's supposed to have dark hair, and copper skin. She's the mother figure, and that's what I am to all my friends. So do you think if i go to the auditions that they won't just throw me out because i'm not first nations?

SUN FM doesn't cast movies.

Hey 13 year old from Prince George... WE at SUN FM have NOTHING to do with the auditions so no unfortunately you can't fax us your resume and head shot, etc. I'm just passing along the casting call. Okay that would mean the world to me. And if you do email me back I would be able to fax you guys my resume, and head shots, and body shots. I would not be able to make the auditions in Kelowna, because I just heard about it. So could you PLEASE email me back, that would mean the so much to me! Please EMAIL me back.

hello. im 14 at the moment, and im not native,(first nations) but i have a passion for acting, its not the fame it that i love to act. this is like a once in a life time chance for this. and i figured why dotn i give it a shot, there also looking for extras and i think i have a good chance for this. me and my best friend are still gonnah try out, and im gonnah give it my all. dont let anyone discourage you. (though i think 12-13 under is a little to young) since there looking for 15, i actually heard there looking for 14-25. but no matter what you guys say im giving it my all. how do you already get the script audtions have not even started yet.

RE: script and stars

Tue, 2009-02-03 17:33
Bri Cook
Hey JD. In the Vancouver Sun article it says: Candidates will receive scripts and be asked return the same day to read for a part. Annon, I have no idea if any of the stars will show up. I think the reason Kristen showed up while they were casting "Edward" is because they needed those 2 characters to have chemistry and therefore they had to read together. They do that a lot with main roles and it seems as though the parts they are auditioning for in Kelowna/Vancouver/Victoria aren't leads. Although they are for speaking parts! P.S. Good luck, Megan!! ~ Bri

RE: casting call requirements

Anonymous, if you're 16-years-old and aboriginal then you fit the requirements therefore you should audition if you want to. And Brae, they don't have a contact number unfortunately. I know a lot of people are in the same predicament as you, First Nations but not old enough yet. I have no idea why they want you to be 15 if it's for looks reasons or if it has something to do with child labour laws. ~ Bri

Hi, I have been told I would do great in acting, and that I would be a great female actress. I am turning 14 in a month. I am first nations, and I was wondering if there's anyone I can contact,so i could figure out if you need to be 15. what do you think? this is my dream, i want it soooo bad!

Hey, okay so I heard about all of this and got really excited because I am 16 years old, love to act and I am metis! BUT I was curious if it was all for the appearance of it, (based on the look of the boy who plays Jacob) because I'm pale-skinned and blue-eyed and just don't really look anything like him.. is it about having an aboriginal heritage, or appearance?

K, im 12 years old, and i know that it says 15-25 years old, but ppl say i look 15 with makeup on. Ive read all the books over 4 times, and i cant wait till the movie! im the biggest fan ever, and i would love to be in the movie! but the catch is that im not first nations! im really sad, but i think that they should let white ppl audition too! there can be white ppl in la push, in the books there is!! Brianne

Oh Jeez...

Mon, 2009-02-02 16:51
Bri Cook
Hey, I think you're a little old for Dakota Fanning. Ha! OK, let me be blunt. There's a reason they don't let Cloris Leachman try out for Denzel Washington's roles. They are only asking for First Nations between the ages of 15 and 25. If they were looking for something else they would have specified. So if you're not a candidate, then you're not a candidate... Sorry! They're looking to fill roles for characters that are Aboriginal teenagers. And it's one thing to look older or younger for your age (hence the 10 year age range they're giving). But if you're not Aboriginal you're not going to fool anyone, it doesn't matter how great of an actor you are. But I won't tell you what to do. Don't seek my approval on whether you should show up anyway, use your own discretion and do what you want. I'm just passing on the casting call. La la la ~ Bri

if ur not first nations..........

.....then u cant audition! ever read the book? its insulting to first nations when u say u think u look first nations. ur wasting time when ur 12 y.o. and think u haev a chance. THE AUDITION SAYS FIRST NAITONS 15-25. if thats not u then DONT AUDTION!! in fact they wont even let u. go ahead show up anwyay. waste ur time and watch them laugh at u. theyll never come to kelowna again afetr this

RE: Alice and Maddy

Alice, good luck in the audition! I can't wait to find out how many people from the Okanagan they give roles to :-) P.S. how did you get a script already? Maddy, I have no idea if they will let those who are not First Nations audition, I'm not one of the casting agents. First Nations between the ages of 15-25 are what they are specifically looking for as per the casting call. Like I said I don't know for sure how much they are willing to bend the rules about age, but I think they are pretty clear about wanting Aboriginals to fill certain roles to keep the movie authentic to the book. The only info I have are #1) the casting call and #2) the article which I've posted a few times on here now. Read them again. Be prepared that even if you show up you may not get to audition. ~ Bri

RE: Chuck

Hey Chuck, I think the reason they are doing a casting call in B.C. is because the filming will take place in Vancouver and they want to make it convenient. But if you're traveling here from Alberta anyway, and you fit what they are looking for (between 15 & 25 years old, and first nations) then I don't see how it will be a problem to audition, although I could be wrong. Unfortunately I only have the information I passed on through my blog. And they don't want any phone calls so these types of questions can't be answered. It doesn't say in the casting call anything about proof of living in B.C. though. It also doesn't say what to bring with you except that they won't ask you for money. So don't pay anybody anything! I don't know much about acting but I think a resume if you have one and a head shot? ~ Bri
