Summerland Action Festival June 6, 7, & 8.

Action Festival is an all-ages, community summer festival that provides a weekend of activities. The event is highlighted by a massive slo-pitch tournament and features other sporting events and races.

Action Festival Parade -   PARADE DATE---Saturday June 7nd, 2008
  • Entry Deadline: May 31st, 2008 (no entry will be accepted after this date)
  • Lineup Time:  8:00 A.M.
  • Judging Time: 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.

Giant's Head Run - 6pm on Saturday, June 7th.  5km and 10km run with 22 categories.  This is a family friendly event and an excellent way to participate in Summerland's Action Festival.

Did you Know?
Although he was born in St. Louis, Aliaune Thiam -- aka Akon -- grew up in Senegal before he and his family (including his father, jazz percussionist Mor Thiam) returned to the United States and settled in New Jersey when he was seven. There he discovered hip-hop for the first time, as well as crime. He was eventually jailed, but he used the time to work on his musical ideas.
