Canadian kid genius Jim Vallance, Bryan Adams' songwriting partner, who pens hits for Aerosmith, BTO, et al., supplies this soundtrack's only obligatory radio staple, "Teacher Teacher" by .38 Special (nothing special about soulless Southern rock). Luckily fast-blazing rock stars Night Ranger crash the scene with "Interstate Love Affair." Neither Freddie Mercury nor the Motels stir up much excitement, but Ian Hunter closes down the classroom and turns out the lights with his grade-A death march "(I'm The) Teacher" ("pleased to meet cha/I am the teacher"). Read More
