The Searchers' second album got the 24-bit digital treatment in early 2001, and listeners are all the better for it. Thanks to the limitations of Pye Records' engineering, most earlier issues of this and the rest of The Searchers' catalog suffered from anemic sound; the fact that The Searchers were a lighter weight outfit than The Beatles, The Hollies, and others didn't help. This is the first CD issue of Sugar and Spice with a relatively loud, consistently robust bass sound, and a decent amount of punch to it. Read More
