Relative to the brilliant work he would go on to do in the '70s and '80s, Stevie Wonder's early recordings for Motown in the 1960s aren't really worth getting too excited about. A few of his songs from the "Little Stevie" era are undisputed masterpieces -- "Fingertips, Pts. 1-2," "Uptight (Everything's Alright)," "I Was Made to Love Her," "Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday" -- but most are fairly run-of-the-mill Motown pop-soul, and more than any label, Motown knew how to churn out run-of-the-mill pop-soul.
