Police warn of suspicious emails
Wed, 2008-12-03 17:35.
The Kelowna RCMP are warning the public about fraudulent emails being passed around.
Constable Steve Holmes says the emails may look like they've been sent from credable financial institutions and may even address you personally.
Holmes says the email will direct you to a website which asks you for your personal information.
The fraudsters can get your banking information from the fake website allowing them to access your accounts says Holmes.
He recommends double checking with your local branch about any suspicious emails before you open them.
