Crash Shuts Down Bridge Overnight

Okanagan Lake Bridge was shut down for almost an hour overnight after an accident on the bridge.

Just after 1AM two pickup trucks were heading into Kelowna from the Westside when one rear ended the other.

Kelowna Rural RCMP say the truck that caused the accident attempted to flee the scene and eventually the driver and 3 passengers ditched the car and went on foot however, police dog services found them.

They are facing charges of impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the truck hit was taken to Kelowna Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
