Calling Vendor Participants for Canada Day's Made in Canada Marketplace

(June 9, 2008 Kelowna, BC) The Celebrate Canada - Kelowna organizing committee is calling for artists, artisans and crafters to participate in the 2008 Canada Day festivities July 1, 2008 in Waterfront Park.

The Made in Canada Marketplace is held in Rhapsody Plaza by the Dolphins, this area in Waterfront Park will feature items made by our vendors which are unique and made in Canada.

"The 2008 Celebrate Canada - Kelowna provides the opportunity for artists and crafters to be featured on-site during our Canada Day Celebrations in Waterfront Park giving the vendors great exposure to sell their wares for a minimal entry fee charge, " says Sonya Barker, Program Coordinator, Festivals Kelowna.

The items to be sold must be created and produced by the named Artist/Artisan, commercial kits or simple crafts will not be accepted and originality and creativity must be demonstrated in all works.

"Items on display will include paintings, pottery, photography, metalwork and jewelry, this is a great opportunity for the more than 50,000 visitors to the day long festival to meet the artisans and crafters and learn what inspires them to create the pieces available for sale, " states Barker.

Application packages may be obtained by contacting Sonya Barker at the Festivals Kelowna office #10-1304 Ellis Street or by phone 250.868.3307. Applicants are reminded that space is limited and that the deadline for applications is June 20, 2008.
