Petro-Can stations running dry

Local News

Approximately 13 Petro-Can stations in the Okanagan are struggling to meet consumer demand.

A problem at Petro-Canada's Edmonton refinery is to blame.

The Westside Petro-Can ran out of gas all together while the Highway 33 location in Kelowna is offering premium gas at regular prices.

Spokesperson Kelly Stevens spoke to AM 1150 News about the gas shortage:

"Our priority will be, to the best of our logistical ability, keeping sites who supply emergency services or who are the sole supplier of gasoline in the community - we are taking steps to ensure those sites received thier normal volume..where we can."

Stevens says the gas shortage could last weeks...not days.

Is this a new "idea" by Petro-Canada to keep the above normal prices for gasoline up? The joke is on us. Once upon a time... the oil price was at $ 112/bbl (traded at the NYMEX (Exchange) and we had to pay a 'heafty' $ 1.18/ltr for gasoline. Than the price for crude went up to $ 145/bbl and the new price for gasoline went to $ 1.425. Now (TODAY), the price for crude is down to 109.93 - a change by 24.2 % !!!!!!! And what do we pay for regular gasoline???? $ 1.399 - a diff to the old price by 1.9 %. (the calculation is based on a price excluding the new BC Tax to make it a honest calculation) And our Government does not do anything with those Muli-National-Extortinonists.
