80 workers at Northern Airborne Technology - or NAT - in Kelowna could be out of a job within a year.

Acting on a tip to the news centre, AM1150 has learned that their parent company, Cobham, is trying to integrate NAT with a sister company in Prescott, Arizona.

Spokesperson Tony Walton says they plan to eventually run most of the business operations primarily out of Prescott, although they do not plan to altogether leave Kelowna.

However, he does say over the next 12 months, they'll be making changes that includes 80 out of 180 employees possibly getting laid off.

I've heard only 14 will be kept on here in town with a new company, and that all of 35 will be going to Prescott. With 178 at NAT or so, I'm thinking that doesn't add up . . .
