Idol Results...Who deserved to win?

I think it's GREAT Kris Allen won last night's Idol competition. Despite all the people on Facebook and Twitter smack talking the new idol winner, it makes sense that he won and I think Adam Lambert fans will agree when I tell you why.


It was obvious Kris was gonna win because first of all, the Gokey fans clearly took their votes and gave them to Kris Allen. We suspected that would happen.

PLUS here's the other thing...after chatting with Bri Cook from BC at Night, she made a great point. Adam Lambert losing Idol last night was a blessing in disguise. Admit it, the new American Idol single is pretty cheesy, dorky and nerdy. If Adam was forced to release that as his first single, it would be career suicide. Well it turns out i'm not alone. We went to the hits line and through email...here's what you had to say about the Idol results:

I LOVE that Kris won - he was one of my favorites from the night he sang Man in the Mirror! And we all know that if history repeats itself, the top 3 or 4 will have albums that will all be pretty successful! Adam was in a league of his own - their albums will be totally different anyways!!

I agree with you. I think that Kris will be a better "american Idol" than Adam. I think that Adam is a waaaaaaay better singer, but with what he will do with his career, he doesn't need the "idol" holding him back. I know that being an American Idol you have to sing certain songs, be in certain photo shoots, and basically act the way they want you to act for the first year. I think Kris is a great guy for this role. He is the cute young guy that all the girls like and will go to the shows. Adam will make an exceptional rock artist and needs to just be on his own.

Props to adam for his killer pipes but Kris represents pop music today which is why he won americas popular vote.

As far as I know the Idol winner is locked into a contract for up to 3 years and if you are an overnight success as Carrie Underwood seemed to have been, you want to be making as much money as you can without the hinderance of a limited contract.

From Sherry: i love that kris won i was voting for him all along adam is a great singer but i think kris needed this win more i can see adam making a great album even appearing in movies or tele series !! but kris is like the cute shy guy next door and i wish him the best in his new career!!!

From Aaron: I think it's a really good thing Adam didn't win. Then he'd be forced to do whatever Idol tells him for a whole year. He'll have a record out soon, don't you worry. Glam Rocker all the way.. lol
