The second band to use the Widowmaker name bears no relationship whatsoever to the original British outfit that featured guitarist Ariel Bender. This American incarnation was created by vocalist Dee Snider after several years' hiatus from the music business following the breakup of Twisted Sister. Joining Snider from the final lineup of Twisted Sister is drummer Joe Franco, while guitarist Al Pitrelli splits his time between Savatage and Widowmaker. Marc Russell was replaced on bass by Freddy Villano after the 1992 release of Blood and Bullets. A second album, Stand By For Pain, was released in 1994. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
