Hot diggity dog!

Thu, 2009-07-02 06:09.
The Breakfast Club

July is hotdog month! How much do you know about this BBQ treat!

Use a spatula or tongs to cook your hot dog on the grill. They can lose moisture and tasty juices when pierced by a fork.

The most popular hot dog topping among adults is mustard (87.6%). Among children, it is ketchup.

Babe Ruth once ate 12 hot dogs & 8 bottles of soda between games of a double header. He was reportedly rushed to the hospital after the game with a severe case of indigestion.

The average hot dog is consumed in 6.1 bites.

(average sized mouth tested)

Baseball fans will enjoy "in the ballpark" of 26.8 million hot dogs at US baseball stadiums this season. That's enough to circle the bases 36,000 times.

Summer sunshine is so lovely! Remember you need more than sunscreen to stay protected, put on the sun glasses and make sure you have UV protection!

Some people think the darker the lens, the more UV protection,. But, in fact, unless lenses feature protective UV-coating, dark shades can increase your exposure to harmful UV rays!  Here's how: Shades block light, so your pupils open to let more light in.  So for your eyes' sake, choose shades with 100 percent UV protection.

YIKES!

Oh wait.. an excuse to go get new sunnies! NICE!

Things you Need To Know

Living in the amazing Okanagan brings with it some amazing wine so for you some amazing wine facts!

White wine has more calories than red wine. Two large glasses of white wine can not only put you over the recommended daily limit for alcohol consumption but also provide you with nearly 20% of her daily calorie allowance.

Wine is sold in tinted bottles because wine spoils when exposed to light.

About 15% of the world's wine bottles already have screw caps. And now leading champagne producer Duval-Leroy is planning to phase out the traditional cork in its bottles and replace it with a ‘revolutionary' metallic cap.

Things You Need To Know

Ways to up cycle before you recycle! It actually takes energy to recycle products, so it's more environmentally friendly to reuse as many as possible before you recycle them. A few examples ...

Breakfast Cereal Bags - The bag inside the cardboard box that actually contains the cereal makes a terrific freezer/food bag when emptied.

Butter Wrappers - When the butter's gone, fold them and save them in the fridge for use any time a recipe calls for you to ‘grease the inside of a pan'.

Coffee Grounds - In moderation, they can do wonders for the garden by adding nitrogen to the soil. They can also keep the kitchen drain smelling fresh if you chase them down it with at least 5 cups of boiling hot water. Your drain should smell fresh for at least a week afterward.

It's properly fitting bra week - woooo hooo!

Tue, 2009-04-07 07:18.
The Breakfast Club

Your bra doesn't fit you properly if:

The bottom of the strap around your back is higher than the bottom of the front of the cups. In other words, the back is riding up.

Your breasts spill out or balloon/pillow out the top, causing the dreaded four-breast effect.

Your breasts spill out the top, bottom, and/or side of the bra.

The wire in the middle doesn't rest right up against the body/sternum.

To get a proper fit: Measure around your rib cage, underneath your breasts, where the band of your bra sits.  Add 5 to this number.  This number is your bra size. Example: 29 inches +5 = size 34.

Myths about food!

Thu, 2009-04-02 07:14.
The Breakfast Club

Today the truth behind 4 food myths!

Myth 1: High Protein Harms Kidneys: There's zero published research showing that protein damages healthy kidneys. As a rule of thumb, shoot to eat your target body weight in grams of protein daily. For example, if you're a chubby 200 lbs and want to be a lean 180, then consume 180 grams of protein a day.

Sweet Potatoes are Better: White potatoes and sweet potatoes have complementary nutritional differences; one isn't necessarily better than the other. What's different is how we eat them, ie: baked white potatoes typically aren't eaten without cheese, sour cream, or butter.

The eyeball -- While you're not going to get a sailor emblazoned on your eyeball, some people do get permanent makeup there. Other painful spots for permanent makeup are the eyebrows and lips.

Down under..  Tattoos down under are just about as painful as the lips because there are a lot of nerves that typically provide pleasure under different circumstances.

The top of the foot or ankle -- Since there is so little fat here, be prepared to grit your teeth during the procedure.

Throw away pens. Why do you need so many pens? Throw them all out except for two or three. If it doesn't have a cap, toss it.

Finally, try it again while reciting the alphabet ... backwards.

The difficulty of each step increases greatly in proportion to your age.

JCI Okanagan presents the fourth annual Urban Adventure Challenge (UAC) on Saturday April 25. The UAC is based around the reality television series “The Amazing Race.” Teams of two travel through Kelowna by foot or city transit to complete a series of challenges that test the Mind, Body and Spirit. The UAC is a charity event to help raise funds for the Kelowna Community Food Bank and JCI Okanagan, while at the same time the chance to win some outstanding prizes.

The ‘Photochaining' blog is an online project fueled by participants who randomly leave cheap camera memory cards in public places so they'll be discovered and used by others. The world is full of colorful phrases.. here's where they came from!

‘Not Worth His Salt.' In Roman times, salt was a highly valued commodity used for trading. To say a soldier was not worth his salt was the same as saying he wasn't worth his salary.

‘Egg on Your Face' may come from Victorian theater. While we're most familiar with the fall guy getting a pie in the face, in Victorian times he often had raw eggs cracked over his head.

‘Cool as a Cucumber' exists because the high water content of a cucumber keeps them pretty cold. Lettuce and celery also have high water content but ‘cool as a lettuce' doesn't have the same ring to it.

More handy tips to make life easier!

Keep store-bought candles in a cool, dark place. Light can cause colors to fade, and heat can cause candles to warp.

Are your shoes scuffed? Dab the spot with a small dollop of Vaseline and blend into the entire shoe for instant shine. Or, polish the shoes with a little hand cream poured onto a paper towel.

Baking powder will remove tea or coffee stains from china pots or cups.

Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it home, then can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so but it works and you don't have to worry about pets or small children eating the stuff and being harmed.

Mardi Gras"/"Fat Tuesday"/"Shrove Tuesday"/"Pancake Day"/"Carnaval", always 46 days before Easter and traditionally the final chance to indulge before the austerity of Lent. In Latin, ‘carne vale' means ‘farewell to meat'. The day is marked by masked balls, lavish costumes, floats, parades, torchlight processions, dancing, fireworks, and feasting on all sorts of foods. Some of the biggest celebrations are in New Orleans, Louisiana; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Nice, France. Many of the traditions go back to the 14th Century.

It's GROUNDHOG DAY!!! Bring on Marvin the Marmot!

Mon, 2009-02-02 08:21.
The Breakfast Club

Welcome to Groundhog Day -- an old belief that if the sun shines on Candlemas Day, or if the groundhog sees his shadow when he emerges on February 2, six weeks of winter will ensue.

Call him Whistle Pig, call him Woodchuck, call him Groundhog. Whatever you call him, he's that fat little critter who gets all the attention today.

He Whistles -- No tunes, just a warning to other groundhogs. His teeth chatter, and he can growl.

He Climbs -- If he's chased, he'll climb a tree.

He's a Sun Worshiper -- He crawls out on a tree limb, perches on a fence post or stretches out on a rock to sunbathe.

Ever wonder what happens moments before the show begins...

It's a busy day around the world!

"Chinese New Year" arrives, welcomed by the scent of incense from lighted joss sticks, dragon dances, and fireworks. The Chinese year 4707 is a ‘Year Of the Ox'. People born under this sign are said to be calm, dependable, strong leaders, methodical and logical. They are patient but, once angered, can be difficult to reason with. Barack Obama is an Ox. Others born under the sign: Adolf Hitler, Bruce Springsteen, George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Napoleon, and Saddam Hussein. The 15-day celebration is marked by wearing new clothing, hanging red decorations, and gifting lucky red packets to the young.

The Breakfast Club

Yesterday on my Facebook status line I ask: Random Facts about the kitchen.. or suprising things you can do with toothpaste.  The toothpaste won. So here we go!

Some of the surprising things you can do with toothpaste ...

  • Remove Crayon Marks - Squirt a small dab on non-gel toothpaste on the wall where the mark is. Rub gently with a soft cloth, then rinse with warm water. Voila!

  • Deodorize Hands - Can't get garlic or onion odor off your hands? Wash them with a blob of toothpaste.

  • Whiten Sneakers - Clean rubber soles by rubbing scuff marks with an old toothbrush and non-gel toothpaste.

  • Buff a DVD - Get rid of light scratches by squeezing a little non-gel toothpaste onto a cotton ball. Wipe over the DVD from the center out to the edge. Rinse with water and dry with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth ... all gone.

  • Defog Goggles - Coat the inside of swimming goggles with toothpaste, then wipe off - they'll be crystal clear.

From today's "Things You Need To Know"

It happens to us all and usually when you least expected it.. running into the ex..

Here are five ways to handle the situation when bumping into an ex and his/her new mate, according to Dating and Personals:

1. Put a smile on your face and say hello. Introduce yourself, but make the conversation brief. This will take two minutes; you can fall apart right after. Be the adult and act gracious and pleasant - to both of them.

2. Say a quick hello and make up an excuse that you're in a rush to meet someone. This will get you out of there fast and possibly make him/her wonder who you're meeting.

Captain Morgan the cutthroat pirate from Wales plundered Cuba and burned Panama City to the ground. But instead of being hanged, he was knighted as the lieutenant governor of Jamaica.

Jack Daniel the whiskey distiller from Lynchburg, Tennessee, injured his toe by kicking a locked safe in a fit of temper. The resulting infection festered into blood poisoning, which killed him.

Welcome to 2009!

Mon, 2009-01-05 07:44.
The Breakfast Club

From Things You Need To Know: As we head into 2009 it's time for some tried and true household hints you likely never thought of!

It might even help with a resolution or two.. Up first: Keep dryer sheets in empty stored suitcases. They'll smell better when they are opened.

Use hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's cheaper than shaving cream and leaves legs really smooth. It's also a way to use up conditioner you bought but found you don't like.

Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Then dump it out but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Tis the season for holiday travel! For you ways to avoid germs while traveling.

Sit toward the front of aircraft where ventilation systems provide better air flow.

Don't drink coffee or tea on an airliners as water in airplane tanks isn't always the cleanest.

Sanitize your hands after leaving a washroom, after getting off an escalator, or after using an ATM.

For packing some people say that the best way to avoid wrinkling suits is to roll them up carefully, then put them in a plastic bag.

And for Jet lag.. Get plenty of sleep before you leave and

Tips, Reading and Stuffing!

Tue, 2008-12-09 13:04.
The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club tracked down some expert advice from Marie Clair on how to look your best while still enjoying all the treats the holidays have to offer!

Wear suits rather than dresses. The more lines and seams you have, the less attention is drawn to your not-so-perfect areas.

Choose dresses with high empire waists as they are more forgiving to trouble spots like the hips and waist.

Wear skinny diagonal stripes. The skinnier the stripe, the thinner you will appear.

Look for knits with a small textured pattern. Tiny designs are the best camouflage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Leave a comment if you think you can help :)

From today's "Things You Need To Know:" It's Holiday party season - and it can be VERY stressful if you aren't the chatty type. For you The Breakfast Club has "rules for conversation" at parties!

After introducing yourself to the host, scan the room and zero in on the most animated group of 3-to-5 people.

Reintroduce yourself to those who may have forgotten you but not by saying, "Remember me?"

Don't remain in one place. Mingle.

Don't try too hard to impress others by talking too much.

Don't discuss taboo topics such as politics, religion, illnesses, or personal problems.

Don't argue over minor details ... even if you're certain you're right.

Whatever you do, don't abruptly end a conversation with a negative comment or a moment of silence.

If you have any suggestions feel free to leave a comment!

.

In shy moments, stand tall and relax your knees to raise your confidence. But be careful with the last one because it can also look like you are about to go to the bathroom!

The Breakfast Club

Can you "Crack The Rock?" CLICK HERE to hear the rockpile. Tell us the songs and artist to win tomorrow morning on The Morning Music Munch! Good Luck!!

From "Things You Need To Know"

Scientific research proves that we forget half of what we hear after 30 minutes. But five simple tricks will permit you to remember everything you hear forever:

1.  Repeating what you hear as soon as you hear it will move the information from short-term memory into long-term memory. For example, if you're introduced to a stranger, figure out a way to mention her name in the ensuing conversation.

2.  The human brain can store no more than seven bits of information at a time. If someone tells you something, chunk the information into small pieces and repeat them to yourself several times.

3.  Write information down - even if you don't have pen and paper. Just tracing the words in the air with your finger will etch them in your memory.

4.  Listen. When we're in a conversation, a lot of our attention is focused on what we're going to say next and not on what's coming out of the other person's mouth. Pay close attention.

5. Make mental "photographs" with the information written on them. (Nail it on a tree)

Do you have any memory tricks? Leave a comment and let us know!

This is kinda cool.. from our sister station in Vancouver it's a mash up of the speaches given by Martin Luther King and Barack Obama: Yes, We Can Dream.  The inspirational mashup.  CLICK HERE

Fri, 2008-10-31 06:30.
The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club wants you to have a safe and fun Halloween.. so here is a list of ways to stay safe while trick or treating tonight!

For Kids:

Carry a flashlight and Walk, don't run.

Don't cut across yards or driveway and wear a watch you can read in the dark.

Approach only houses that are lit.  And stay away from and don't pet animals you don't know.

For Mom and Dad:

Make your child eat dinner before setting out.

You should know where they're going.

And although tampering is rare, tell children to bring the candy home to be inspected before consuming anything.

For homeowners:

Remember pets get frightened on Halloween. Put them up to protect them from cars or inadvertently bitting a trick-or-treater.

and fun non - food treats to consider: plastic rings, pencils, stickers, erasers, coins.

Happy Halloween!

Tue, 2008-10-28 07:23.
The Breakfast Club

Here we are another day closer to Halloween - and the Halloween Howler at Flashbacks! I'm looking forward to seeing your costume!!

Today on "Things you Need to Know" we talked banks!

Here are some fun facts you might not know about banking...

Banks hire 'mystery customers' who secretly test whether a teller is cross-selling services.

Postdating a cheque often doesn't work. With stacks of deposits to process, account names, not dates are what's most scrutinized. Then if the cheque bounces, you're liable.

You should keep receipts for every ATM transaction. And please don't feed cash directly into the machine without first putting it into an envelope (yes, people actually do this).

Banks often waive monthly fees if you keep a higher balance in your chequing account. That way, it's not in a savings account earning interest ... and costing the bank.

A bank has the right to pay itself back out of your next deposit for any fees or overdrafts you owe.

You should call or visit in person to resolve a banking problem. Filling out online forms will usually get you a 'by-the-book' reply.

And as promised here is the link for some fun money facts including how many folds the average bill is meant to take before it rips!

Prepare your own lunch instead of eating out.

20/20 hind sight is a wonderful thing... for future reference here is some wind storm safety information!

While high winds are commonly associated with severe thunderstorms, hurricanes and or disasters, they may also occur as a result of differences in air pressures, such as when a cold front passes across the area.  High winds can cause downed trees and power lines, flying debris and building collapses, which may lead to power outages, transportation disruptions, damage to buildings and vehicles, and injury or death.

Preparing for High Winds
In advance of any storm, be sure your property is secure. Remove any dead trees or overhanging branches near structures, loose roofing materials and objects in yards, patios, roofs or balconies that could blow away.

D U S T I N G

First, I'm going to tell you a little about me and my family. My name is Jeff. I am a Police Officer for a city which is known nationwide for its crime rate. We have a lot of gangs and drugs. At one point we were #2 in the nation in homicides per capita. I also have a police K-9 named Thor. He was certified in drugs and general duty. He retired at 3 years old because he was shot in the line of duty. He lives with us now and I still train with him because he likes it. I always liked the fact that there was no way to bring drugs into my house. Thor wouldn't allow it. He would tell on you. The reason I say this is so you understand that I know about drugs. I have taught in schools about drugs. My wife asks all our kids at least once a week if they used any drugs. Makes them promise they won't.

Here is a great story about the "Ripple Effect!"

Today my sister and I were so excited to finally use our very first ripple effect card. We were driving around Westbank trying to figure out what to do when we decided to go to McDonalds for ice cream. As we were paying we overheard the drive thru guy putting the next customer on hold when we got REALLY excited and said to one another "THIS IS IT". So we looked at the worker and said "wait a minute, take that persons order and we'll pay for it" he gave us the "these woman are crazy look" and proceeded to take the customers order. We then paid for the order and explained to the McDonalds employee that he was to hand the ripple effect card to the driver of the vehicle behind us. Even though the order was a small one "desserts for a family of 4" we had SO MUCH FUN DOING THIS. We were laughing like little school girls and at the same time trying to secretly peek through our rear view mirror to see who it was we had just slapped an unexpected gesture of kindness on. Our kids in the back seat of our car were now also looking at us wondering what was the big deal. We noticed the driver reading his card and wondered what he might be thinking. No matter how small or large an act of kindness might be, it was an absolute joy and we can't wait to do it again. Everyone should be carrying these golden opportunity cards as we call them in their, wallets, purses, vehicles etc. Thanks So Much For Starting This Amazing Ripple Effect.

According to the Irish Tourist Board: · A Leprechaun is no more than 24 inches tall, dresses in bright colors, is usually skilled as a shoemaker, and if surprised, might lead you to his Pot o' Gold. Your best chance of seeing one will come if you visit one too many pubs.

He is selling advertising on his website, which features nothing more than a webcam shot of him ... lying around in bed. Pancakes! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!

Tue, 2008-02-05 08:54.
Susan Knight

Welcome to Pancake Tuesday!

We had fun flinging pancakes this morning!  Today is "Mardi Gras"/"Fat Tuesday"/"Shrove Tuesday"/"Pancake Day"/"Carnaval", always 46 days before Easter and traditionally the final chance to indulge before the austerity of Lent. In Latin, ‘carne vale' means ‘farewell to meat'. The day is marked by masked balls, lavish costumes, floats, parades, torchlight processions, dancing, fireworks, and feasting on all sorts of foods.  Many of the traditions go back to the 14th Century.  We of course started a new tradition which was flinging pancakes at the wall to see which pancake would stick better.. one with maple syrup, jam, or butter.. not sure which one won.. but did we ever make a MESS!  We flung the pancakes at stars who need to eat more.. Terri Hatcher seemed to get it the worst!

How goes the "Clicking of the Coconut?" Keep on clicking and dialing!!  More chances for you to qualify for boarding passes to the Fiesta Finale on the way! 8 people will be leaving for Mexico at the end of the March.  How AMAZING would that be!!

BTW: Did you get your Ripple Effect cards?  Check it out online HERE. Do your good deed today.. you never know where that ripple will go! We will be asking you to share your "ripple" on Friday!

Thinking about snuggling up with the one you love and watching a flick? Today's DVD releases include:

"Across the Universe" ( Musical Romance ): Evan Rachel Wood & Jim Sturgess play a ‘60s couple caught up in the counter-culture in this tribute to peace activism set against the backdrop of 33 Beatles tunes. The stars sing on the soundtrack along with Bono, Joe Cocker, and several lesser-knowns. Also available in a ‘2-Disc Deluxe Edition.

"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" ( Western ): In this James Gang bio-film, Robert Ford (Casey Affleck), who has idolized Jesse James (Brad Pitt) since childhood, tries hard to join the reforming gang but gradually becomes resentful of the Missouri outlaw. Shot entirely in Alberta.

"Blonde & Blonder" ( Comedy ): Pamela Anderson & Denise Richards star as a pair of gorgeous blondes (‘Dee' & ‘Dawn') who get into deep doo-doo when they're mistaken for international mob killers. Pam basically showed up for this as a favor to her screenwriter-brother Gerry Anderson. Partially shot in Vancouver & area.

"The Brave One" ( Crime Thriller ): Jodie Foster stars as a NYC radio host who goes on a vigilante hunt to find the men who brutally beat her and killed her fiancé. Co-stars Terrence Howard & Naveen Andrews. Foster changed her character from newspaper reporter to radio announcer before shooting started. Premiered at the "Toronto International Film Festival".

"Elizabeth: The Golden Age" ( Bio Drama ): Reprising the roles they originated in "Elizabeth" (1998), Cate Blanchett & Geoffrey Rush return for this gripping historical thriller laced with treachery and romance. Joining them is Clive Owen as Sir Walter Raleigh, the dashing seafarer and newfound temptation for Britain's ‘virgin queen'.

Also released TODAY: "The Apartment (Collector's Edition)"; "The Aristocats (Special Edition)"; "Midnight Express: 30th Anniversary Edition"; "Tootsie: 25th Anniversary Edition"; and "You've Got Mail: Deluxe Edition".

The date is 2-4-08... who do we appreciate?

Forget the groundhogs from other parts of the country.. for us it’s all about “Marvin” the Marmot! Who I am happy to report is whistling in SPRING!!! We might be delusional from the cold but run with us on this one..

Today in “Things You Need To Know” we discovered that today is the “Midpoint of Winter”, at least statistically speaking. This being a Leap Year, Winter lasts a total of 89 days, meaning the halfway point occurs about midday today. It may not seem like it, but Winter is actually the shortest season.

The Breakfast Club

Welcome to February! Groundhog Day – Valentine’s Day and more chances for you to win with The Breakfast Club!

Here’s more “Groundhog Day” info for you! It’s an annual celebration based on the old Scottish rhyme that says: “If Candlemas Day is bright and clear, there'll be 2 winters in the year.” It was actually the Teutons (Germans) who first decided that if the Sun was out on “Candlemas Day”, an animal would cast a shadow, predicting 6 more weeks of bad weather (aka ‘second winter’).

Congratulations to our daily qualifiers so far and good luck! We will be reading out names starting bright and early Monday morning for more Fiesta Finale winners.. you could be a step closer to a trip to Mexico!!

Lots of calls about the "No Contact" information... here it is:

Did you know there's a ‘Do Not Contact' list in Canada to block telemarketers from dialing your number? Get on the list by visiting the Canadian Marketing Association online. Since the dawn of time, humankind has sought ways to ward off supernatural entities. Now, for only $5, you can get a printed ‘Paranormal Restraining Order' that purportedly bars them from approaching or contacting you..  Just flash the ghost.. zombie or werewolf the legal doc & they're sure to skedaddle with their pointy tails between their legs.  Here is the LINK.

From this morning...  Things You Need To Know!

Catwalk stars Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell may need tax write-offs but the average model made a median hourly wage of just $11.22 in the past year.

According to a national retail study, there's a 1-in-20 chance a store's checkout scanner will ring up the wrong price. But don't fret! The mistake will be in your favor more than half the time.

Forget tattoos & piercings, the latest trend for body decorating enthusiasts is having their skin branded in the style of a Texas steer. Red-hot metal brands or ‘cauterizing pens', which burn at more than 1,000 degrees C, are used to sear a design permanently into the flesh. .. and yes it hurts!

Happy Friday!

 Things You Need To Know!

Scientists say ... older people are happier than younger people on average!  The key reason may be - with less time left, older people tend to focus on ‘the now' instead the future.

Today is "Deviled Egg Day"...  Tomorrow is ‘Watch Dad Evacuate an Entire Department Store in 10 Seconds Day'.

Capsaicin, the same ingredient that puts the burn in hot sauces appears to be a wrinkle remedy. Blair Lazar, the maker of the line of Blair's Death Sauces, swears by it. He's developed a new skin cream called Biocap.

Bring on the fall!

Thu, 2007-09-20 12:19.
Susan Knight

Hi, Susan Knight here.. This is my favorite time of year! Most people think of January as a time of change.. New year resolutions and all that.. Not me, for me it's September and October. I'm pretty sure it goes back to school days. Every year I would promise myself that this would be the year I would be an academic superstar.. I would stay out of trouble and be the apple of everyone's eye! I wish I could say that ever happened.. Let's just say my school days were character building to say the least!

Fall is also grand because there is so much too do.. Before it gets too cold there is still time to enjoy the fun of summer.. For me that's the lake.. The water is still comfortable with a wet suit and our visitors are gone so boat traffic is at a minimum. I wish that everyone could find the joy in something the way I have being pulled behind a boat. I am still surprised at the amount of peace I find while wake surfing.. Discovering that sport was like a little gift, which allows me to have perspective when the world is moving, so fast!

Not quite ready for summer to end!

Thu, 2007-09-20 12:04.
Tarzan Dan
WHAT A WHIRL WIND summer has been, where did it go???...The TURBINE that is the BREAKFAST CLUB... We've had a blast all summer long playing in the OKANAGAN SUN !

I have been working on my photography quite a bit this summer...picked up 2 international awards which kinda made me giddy!

Susan and I had a cook off at HAINLE WINERY in SUMMERLAND...SHE WON...but who knew I could actually cook and not kill people in the preocess!!

We both took vacations right after each other...wow was that weird being away from her for almost an entire month!

By far my fave summer activity has to be on the lake (OKANAGAN, WOOD, or KALAMALKA) on the wakeboard and inventing 2 new moves the "OOPSY DANNY" where you slide on your butt or any other body part unintentionally while attempting crossing the wake...or the "KONK A NOGGIN IN THE OKANAGAN" in which hitting the water so hard DIZZY becomes your middle name! (wear a HELMET !!)This summer I cleared the wake for the first time...and was sooo happy!!!
